OBITUARY... November 2002

The sad news is that the band broke up mid-November 2002. Esme has emigrated to the Land of Oz to be with his Significant Other and sprogs. Tim also decided to leave the band at this time.

Penthouse were the subject of a rather dubious (and with hindsight, fairly ominous) four-page spread in the last issue of independent UK music magazine 'Careless Talk Costs Lives', cover dated August/September 2002

Thanks to everyone who has supported the band during the course of the last eight or nine years.

Any news of future projects will hopefully be reported here in due course.

There is a very beautifully written obituary for Penthouse from France's Positive Rage which captures the mood of the last few days perfectly English translation here

Where Are They Now?

Jon Free is now playing in GIN PALACE, plus does occasional stints with Country Teasers and London Dirthole Company (ex-Headbutt).

Charlie Finke now fronts THE CESARIANS , featuring ex-members of Gretschen Hofner, The Auteurs, Monkey Island and even Christian Death!

Tim Cedar went on to found the uber-heavy PART CHIMP, and primal electro-droners DIE MUNCH MACHINE

Esme MacDonald has a new band called, laughably, 'THE HORN'. He sings and plays bass in this band. He tells me Lunasound ('home of the has-beens') are going to put out an album by them next year...

Graeme Flynn left the band in June '99. He is currently playing in an outfit along with Jim Jones from Thee Hypnotics. Previously called BLACK MOSES, I have it on good authority that they have changed their name to the (rather presumptuous) 'LICENSED TO DESTROY!!!'
