Tuesday 17th January 2006 - Gin Palace played a 6 song LIVE SESSION on London's Resonance 104.4 FM

as part of Joe Cushley's 'Balling The Jack' show

"From Beefheart to The White Stripes, Balling the Jack explores the way The Blues has interacted with art-rock, electronica and punk over the last 40 years. The show also takes time to shine some light on the darker corners of the idiom's earlier history. Competitions and special guests enliven this eclectic, Clapton-free celebration of the Thirteen Bar Blues."

Sunday 8th October 2006 - LONDON, Elephant & Castle Corsica Studios

with Gallon Drunk and Simon Breed

GALLON DRUNK have just announced a special celebratory London date as the final show on their current European tour. The legendary London band will be playing at Corsica Studios on Sunday October 8th with special guests Gin Palace and Simon Breed in support. The evening will also feature guest DJs Ian Johnston (Lady Luck) and Easy Arthur (spinning their own brand of crime-jazz and voodoo-sleaze???), screenings of rare and twisted cinematic gems, exotic and deadly cocktails and much, much more.... Fronted by James Johnston (also a member of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds), the band comprises Terry Edwards on tenor sax, Ian White on drums and Simon Wring on bass. Formed in 1990 Gallon Drunk released a string of fiery Stooge/jazz/punk/rocknroll singles, all achieving single of the week in NME and Melody Maker. The group were also nominated for a Mercury Award in 1993 for the album From The Heart of Town. Highly influencial, the group have retained their unique sense of style and individuality, and their thrilling shows have the repuation of being one of the most exciting live groups to emerge from the U.K. Gallon Drunk's first three Lp's YOU THE NIGHT AND THE MUSIC, FROM THE HEART OF TOWN, and TONITE...THE SINGLES BAR are due to be re-released by Funhouse Records in box form later in the year. The box will include an extra CD of unreleased live material, plus a DVD of unseen live footage and videos. The set will be distributed by Forte Distribution.

GIN PALACE Stuart Bell-Drums | Jon Free-Guitar | Meaghan Wilkie-Vocals Former Penthouse / Fifty Tons Of Black Terror guitarist Jon Free's new band is as ferocious as you'd expect. These are no mere White Stripes copyists - their sound is more feral and wild than Jack White could dream of being. Blues rhythms, Link Wray riffs, Stooges punk rock and Cramps style rockabilly leanings make this bunch absolutely something else. Most of their songs are short, sharp and satisfyingly punchy, snapping off perfectly. Their sound is raw energy - a snarling, alcohol and adrenaline-fuelled wall of sound, stripped down to the pure elements of blues, rock and punk turned up as loud as you can handle it. "Deranged Slither, Savage And Sin-Sodden, As Willing To Slip a Switchblade 'Tween Your Ribs As Take You Dancing" - CARELESS TALK COSTS LIVES The Most Exciting Band In London Right Now!" - ARTROCKER "The Grindiest, Meanest Sounding Band In The World Right Now" - ARTROCKER (again!) "This Is Rock 'n' Roll At It's Basest, It's Most Thrilling And Elemental - The Purest Spirit Of Adrenalised Garage Fury" - KERRANG!

CORSICA STUDIOS After 5 years of hosting their own events ( Enter the Dragon Ladies, Shadowfist, Cabaret Sauvignon, The Night Gallery, An Electric Storm ) invite-only private warehouse parties (including the notorious LOWLIFE and AT NIGHT.... events), covert art happenings by collectives such as WOWOW!, Signs of Life and Guerilla Zoo, club nights by Haywire, Adaadat Records and Kosmische and gigs by Lydia Lunch, Circle and Sunburned Hand of The Man amongst others, Corsica Studios has finally emerged from the underground into its new life as a unique and independent arts venue. "Weird, wonderful and well worth the trip to Elephant and Castle" londontown.com "a brilliant labyrinthian space beneath a railway arch in Elephant & Castle in which to experience art, music, performance and film" londonist.com
